OVERVIEW
I am a Special Education Teacher! What’s your superpower? In this introduction to Specially Designed Instruction (SDI), special education teachers will gather evidence-based practices for aligning specially designed instruction with academic areas of impact for students with disabilities. During this interactive workshop special education teachers will develop a common understanding of Specially Designed Instruction and build on knowledge of providing students with meaningful access to the curriculum. Special Education teachers will use information learned to begin critical examination of their current practice across the content areas. Teachers will have the opportunity to plan for implementation of SDI for a specific student using a guided Specially Designed Instruction framework.
