Progress Monitoring through the Lens of Equity
January 23 and 30, 2025
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Virtual Meeting (Zoom)
OVERVIEW
As teachers and leaders advance cultures of Belonging in classrooms and hallways, communities continue to look for answers to three key questions: (1) How do we know that Belonging is working with our students? (2) How do we know that our instructional practices are truly meeting all students in linguistic and culturally responsive ways? & (3) How can a culture of Progress Monitoring encourage a growth mindset and not a culture that feels wholly evaluative?
Over two dynamic sessions, Dr. Amante-Jackson will support teachers and leaders in deepening understanding of a Progress Monitoring culture wherein teachers can measure their impact in reaching all students while innovating forward along the way. Participants will learn the best practices of creating a culture of Progress Monitoring; strategies for implementing assessments; and tools to track growth with students. Interactive break-outs and activities will be used to support practicing individual student assessment and monitoring reflective practices.
MEETING OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to...
- describe the purpose of progress monitoring;
- define progress monitoring in two differing ways: academic progress monitoring and cultural progress monitoring;
- identify steps for implementing progress monitoring of student growth (at the individual level); and
- practice strategies to measure progress with students.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. If you require any accommodations due to a disability, please let us know what accommodations you need.
